So, a little about me...
I'm a talker (although I can be surprisingly quiet sometimes), and one of those people who's always curious about something. I married my husband in October 2003, and somewhere between then and now, life became nothing as I planned...and somehow, still very much turned out the way I hoped.
Becoming a mom was probably the biggest reminder of that. I'd dreamed of motherhood since I was a little girl, so when it didn't happen as easily as I'd hope, I was devastated. I even went through a period of questioning my own womanhood. Eventually, we visited an infertility doctor who told my husband and me that we would never have biological children together.
Eight years later, in 2016, I gave birth to my daughter at 40. Then in 2019, I had my son at 43.
So...apparently life had its own opinion about never. ♡
I love to laugh until I cry, stupid jokes included, and I'll absolutely dance like nobody's watching. Should I? Probably not. Do I? Absolutely!
I'm happily stuck in the '90s when it comes to music, but a few songs have managed to break through. Tennessee Whiskey and Lose Control get me every single time. If either comes on, just know I'm singing along — loudly and probably incorrectly.
I love to travel, and I can disappear into a good book for hours. Entrepreneurship found me before I ever thought to call myself an entrepreneur. I've changed directions, started over, tried things that worked and some that definitely didn't — and somewhere along the way, I stopped feeling like I needed to choose just one lane.
Oh — and I make a mean seafood pasta. I don't know where that fits into my life story, but it felt important to mention.
Baking is my passion. Writing is my pastime. Helping others is my calling.
